Cake Decorators and crafters: How WYSWYG affects your life
In the internet jargon, WYSWYG means What you see is What you get. We live in a world of unceasing change. Failing to recognize this miracle of change is to miss the point of life. Change is constant. If you wan to live, grow, see, know, share what you can give and be what you can be, you must change. Those who master change succeed in life ,those who don’t, fail. It is that simple.
Some months ago, I decided that if I wanted to live, to grow, to see, to know, to share what I can give and be the best that I could be, I needed to change.. There is value in independence. Whenever you find yourself in a situation that stymies your growth or limits your ability to contribute, you must make a decision. In order to create change in my life, I formulated a mission purpose for Marivi’s: “To help people become the best they can be, by going as far as they can go, developing and using all the unique strength they have.”
Defining my mission enable me to immediately focus my creative energies. Teach how to make the most exotic flowers and fondant techniques is one of the many commitments of my mission.
As I devote my unique strengths to my mission, I recognize that I must grow and change personally. Otherwise, I would fail in my mission to help you develop and use your unique strengths, encourage you to become the best you possibly can be, and to challenge you to go as far as you can go in life.
I must do more than change myself, I must be the agent of change to encourage and motivate you to change. Unless I stretch myself and be an example of change, my mission is no more than words in paper.
Change requires several disciplines. The first is the ability of concentrate in today, in the now. Whatever you are doing right now is vitally important. You are investing a day of your life that you will never live again. Make today work. Make the best you can. Change is growth, not escape. If you simply escape the circumstances you are in today, they will reappear tomorrow. Do not let problems center your thinking. Control you mental focus. Re-center your thinking. We all have problems. If you permit these negative issues to dominate your thinking, you will focus on all the adverse circumstances in your life. You can only think of one thing at the time. Therefore, you have a choice. You can think about your problems and wallow in self-pity. Or, you can focus on the happy, fulfilling experiences in your life. In all things rejoice. That’s what concentrating on the moment is all about. Rejoice in whatever situation you find yourself. It is with an attitude of rejoicing in your strengths, and refusing to lament about your problems, that you find the challenge to change and opportunities for new beginnings. Problems are gifts given to us to transform into growth.
Without this attitude for finding the reasons for rejoicing in your present circumstances, you will never have the faith in yourself and the trust in the future that are essential prerequisite for change. Instead of taking the responsibility to change your own life, you will hang on, hoping that through some miracle, someone will change your life for you. Fate is what life give you. Destiny if what you choose to do with it.
The second discipline in change is an important word. STOP. Stop and be with your experience of the moment. Stop and recognize exactly what is happening in your life, right now. Stop and identify this experience, understand it. Register, acknowledge and accept your feelings. Take responsibility for you feelings and your life as it exists today. Don’t blame your circumstances on someone else. Getting in touch with your experiences and your feelings is insight. Personal insight is the basis for determining needed changes and catching new vision of opportunity.
Challenge is the third discipline in the process of change. Listen to what is going on inside of you. What are you saying to yourself? Challenge yourself to talk to yourself with confidence, with respect, with faith, with trust. Improve, in fact, change your self talks. What you say to yourself is likely to become your reality. If you say you cannot change, if you say there is no opportunity for you, if you see only your limitations, if you keep telling yourself that you cannot do anything, chances are these are the exact situations you will experience the rest of your life. Change start on the inside. You can’t change the outside conditions of your life until you change the inside perspective about your life, now.
It is a true reality, What you see is what you get. Do you want to live? Grow? See? Know? Share what you can give? Then, make a list identifying areas where you must change, What changes must you make in your work? In your health ? In your social life? In your spiritual life?
Where there is change, there is growth, where there is growth, there is opportunity. Where there is opportunity, there is success. Where there is success, there is happiness. Where there is happiness, there is God.
